Widgets

How do I add a widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose MochiBox. Pick a size and add it. Then touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and pick an album. There's a step-by-step guide with screenshots.

My widget doesn't change exactly on time.

iOS decides when widgets refresh, so short intervals like every minute are approximate.

How do I change how often a widget changes?

Open the album in MochiBox and tap the “Change every…” button. You can choose anywhere from every minute to once a day. Turn on Shuffle without repeats to show every photo once before any repeats.

My widget says “Choose an album.”

Its album was deleted or is empty, or it hasn't been given one yet. Touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and pick an album with photos.

A photo looks cropped wrong in the medium widget.

Medium widgets are wide, so they use their own crop. Open the photo, tap Edit, open Crop and choose Wide to frame it for medium widgets.

Which iPhones does MochiBox work on?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later.

Photos and editing

How do I add photos from Google Photos?

In the Google Photos app, select your photos, tap Share and choose MochiBox. You can share up to 50 at a time. See the Google Photos guide.

Do Looks change my original photos?

No. MochiBox edits its own copy of each photo. Your photo library and Google Photos stay exactly as they are, and you can switch any photo back to Original.

How do I write a caption on a photo?

Choose the Instant Print frame (or the Instant Look, which uses it), then tap the bottom margin of the preview and type up to 24 characters.

Can I edit lots of photos at once?

Yes. In an album, tap Select, choose photos, then Edit → Edit Appearance. Looks, frames, stickers and Fine Tune apply to all of them. Crops and captions are edited one photo at a time.

Backups and your data

How do I back up my albums?

In MochiBox Settings, under Backup & restore, tap Export albums…, choose the albums and tap Export. The backup is a single file you save wherever you choose, such as Files or iCloud Drive. MochiBox never uploads it.

How do I restore a backup?

In MochiBox Settings, tap Restore from backup, pick the backup file and choose which albums to include. Restore adds missing albums and missing photos. Photos you already have, including ones you've edited, stay as they are.

What happens if I delete MochiBox?

Deleting the app deletes its albums. Photos in your photo library or Google Photos aren't affected. To keep your albums, export a backup from MochiBox Settings first.

Does MochiBox collect any data?

No. MochiBox has no account, ads, analytics or servers. Your photos are processed and stored only on your iPhone. Read the privacy policy.
